LCD Paint Thickness Gauge 0–2000 μm Steel and Aluminium

Electronic paint thickness gauge is designed for checking paint coatings on steel and aluminium components. It is useful for inspecting a car before purchase, comparing individual body parts, and checking completed bodywork and paint repairs.

The device automatically recognises the type of substrate being tested. The designation Fe indicates measurement on steel components, including galvanised steel, while NFe indicates measurement on non-ferrous metals such as aluminium. The built-in probe allows for quick results after placing the gauge on the surface.

The range of 0 to 2000 μm enables comparison of coating thickness in different areas of the bodywork. Clear differences between results may indicate repainting, a thicker layer of coating, or the use of repair material.

The backlit LCD display makes it easier to read results, and the backlight can be turned off if necessary. The gauge counts the measurements taken and presents the minimum, maximum, average values, and the difference between the highest and lowest results. The statistical memory can store up to 50 readings, and once this number is exceeded, the newest result replaces the oldest.

The included aluminium plate and set of thickness standards allow for checking readings and performing calibration. The automatic shut-off function reduces battery consumption by turning off the device after about 3 minutes of inactivity. This function can be disabled if needed.

Main features:
– measurement on steel, including galvanised steel, and aluminium
– automatic substrate recognition Fe/NFe
– built-in measuring probe
– measurement range from 0 to 2000 μm
– accuracy ±(3% + 1 μm)
– counting of measurements taken
– statistics calculated from a maximum of 50 readings
– minimum, maximum, average values and difference
– backlit LCD display
– option to turn off backlight
– zero calibration and calibration using standards
– automatic shut-off after about 3 minutes
– option to disable automatic shut-off
– battery level indicator

How to use:
Before turning on, hold the gauge at least 2 cm away from metal objects. Turn on the device and perform calibration if necessary. Then, place the probe perpendicularly to the clean and dry surface of the component being tested. After the beep and display of the result, lift the gauge at least 2 cm above the surface, and then take another measurement. For a reliable assessment, take several measurements on each component and compare the results with adjacent parts made from the same material.

Included:
– paint thickness gauge
– aluminium calibration plate
– 6 thickness standards: 0.05 / 0.10 / 0.25 / 0.50 / 1.00 / 2.00 mm
– user manual
